Before you install
- Have a current, restorable site backup. An established site should be tested on a staging copy first.
- Check the package minimums: WordPress 5.9 and PHP 7.4. Minimums do not replace checking your host's supported software and your other plugins.
- Download the intact IM-Press ZIP. Do not unzip its contents for the WordPress upload flow.
- If you have a paid license, keep its key private. Do not put it in a page, repository, screenshot or support post.
Install through WordPress Admin
- Open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Select im-press-v5.2.7.zip and choose Install Now.
- For an existing installation, verify the uploaded version and choose WordPress's replacement option. Do not delete the old installation as an upgrade step.
- Confirm IM-Press is active and displays version 5.2.7 on the Plugins page.
- Open IM-Press in WordPress Admin and check that the dashboard loads without an error notice.
Keep or choose your theme
You do not need to replace a working theme just to use IM-Press. Passthrough is an optional companion for custom design/deploy templates. If you choose it, test existing pages, navigation, headers, footers and SEO output before activating it on a live site.
Make one draft first
- Choose a small page or section with clear source content.
- Pick a supported import route, or work with blocks in the editor.
- Review the draft's text, links, assets and desktop/mobile layout.
- Check page title, description, canonical URL and which plugin owns the SEO output.
- Publish when reviewed, then open the public URL in a signed-out browser and check the result again.
Stop after the first error.
Record the exact message and installed version. Do not repeatedly reinstall, delete license records or change database tables to try to clear an error.
